Our first suggestion...
is take your time, we suggest waiting at least 6 months before thinking about a headstone or monument. This gives you time for your grief to settle and for you to get some clarity with your design choices. An epitaph you choose soon after losing a loved one might be quite different from the epitaph you would choose a year later.
Epitaphs can range from poetic verses to simple statements, reflecting the personality or values of the individual. Some are poignant and solemn, while others may be humorous or reflective, offering a glimpse into how the person or their loved ones wanted them to be remembered. Throughout history, epitaphs have served as a lasting tribute, connecting the living to those who have passed on.
"In Loving Memory,
A Life Well Lived, A Soul Well Loved,
Now at Peace in Eternal Rest,
Forever in Our Hearts."
Take inspiration from your loved ones life and interests. Lyrics from a favourite song, lines of a meaningful poem or verse, favourite sayings or If you feel it’s appropriate you could use a funny headstone epitaph.
"Gone But Never Forgotten,
Your Light Shines On,
In the Hearts of All Who Knew You,
Until We Meet Again."
